Wrexham BID

In an exciting development, a Business Improvement Districts (BID) task force is introducing a BID scheme to Wrexham.

BIDs are areas where local businesses vote to improve their local environment through new projects and extra services. Local businesses pay a mandatory BID levy on top of business rates to fund marketing, promotions, events, town centre management, physical improvements, and also additional street cleaning.

The Wrexham BID Task Group is a collective of local, professional, and business people working together independently of any council or organisation but in collaboration with everyone who cares about the well-being and current and future prosperity of our city. Your voice and input are crucial to its success.

Working together to achieve a BID could make a real difference. Over the coming months, the BID Task Group will engage with you to learn what is important to you and how we can all work together to ensure local businesses, residents, and visitors contribute to a thriving Wrexham city centre.

Attract Visitors

To achieve a BID, business owners need to work together to identify the best way to invest independently in our city. They have to understand how to manage and market their area collectively, attract more shoppers and visitors, and also attract new business and investment.

A Business Improvement District (BID) is not just a scheme. It is a way to help businesses take control of and improve their trading environment. Businesses within the BID area have a unique opportunity to identify the improvements that will make a positive change to your business and the city.

They can then use this information to create a business plan, which is voted on by all contributors. The BID lasts for a maximum of five years. You must demonstrate that it benefits the businesses within the community that have provided the funding.

If you would like to be part of the BID Task Group, your contribution is not only welcomed but essential. Your perspective can shape the future of our city, so take the survey at surveymonkey.com/r/wrexhambid2024 to have your say.
